Pupil Premium Funding
Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the government to help schools support particular groups of pupils who are at risk of underachievement, so that we can close the gap between them and their peers.
The Pupil Premium is allocated to schools for pupils in Reception through to Year 11 who:

Are currently eligible for Free School Meals (FSM)

Have been eligible for FSM at any point in the past six years (Ever6)
-
Have been looked after by the local authority (CLA) continuously for more than six months
-
Have parents who are serving in the Armed Forces
In East Sussex, Pupil Premium for CLA is managed by the Virtual School for Children in Care.
Pupil Premium Plus (PP+)
At The Haven CE Methodist Primary School, in line with DfE guidance, we spend Pupil Premium Plus (PP+) on improving the educational and personal outcomes for pupils who are:

Looked after by the local authority

Subject to a Special Guardianship Order (SGO)

Adopted from care
This support may include (but is not limited to):

Raising attainment and closing gaps in learning

Providing targeted support through personalised or group interventions

Offering whole-class or whole-school initiatives to benefit eligible pupils
It is important to note that PP+ funding is not ring-fenced for individual children. Schools are best placed to determine how funding can be used to have the maximum impact. At The Haven CE Methodist Primary School, if a child has gaps in their educational attainment, we will provide carefully targeted support to meet their needs.
Why Register for Pupil Premium?
Even if your child does not wish to take a free school meal, it is important to register if you are eligible. By registering, your child’s school will receive additional funding which can be used to:
